Black Diamond Mountaineering Axe

Designed with both form and function in mind, the Black Diamond Raven ice axe is a traditional mountaineer's piolet for classic alpine climbs. The sculpted, stainless steel head on this ice axe has a neutral pick and a tapered wasp-waisted platform for a solid grip and smooth hand rotation when going into a self-arrest. Meanwhile, a classically-curved adze blasts ice and chops steps into the most bulletproof ice. A 7075-T6 extruded shaft keeps things light without sacrificing strength, while a 17-4 investment-cast spike has both a narrow profile for speed glissading and a wide pro€le for shutting it down. Leash not included.
